KOLOS MEDAL AND LECTURE AWARD

STATUTES

1. The Kolos Medal and Lecture Award (Kolos Medal for short) is given every second year to commemorate the late Professor Wlodzimierz Kolos, Faculty Member of the Chemistry Department, University of Warsaw, and Honorary Member of the Polish Chemical Society.

2. The Kolos Medal is given for distinction in theoretical or experimental physical chemistry studies.

3. The Laureate presents a lecture – the Kolos Lecture – at the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, and delivers a scientific talk to the Department’s graduate students.

4. The Laureate is encouraged to publish the contents of the lecture with an acknowledgment stating that the material of the publication was presented during the Kolos Lecture at the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw.

5. The Laureate receives a medal with his/her name engraved, a diploma, and an honorarium equivalent of 2000 USD. The costs of his/her stay in Warsaw are covered.

6. The Laureate is selected by the committee consisting of Full Professors of Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. The selection must be approved by the Dean of the Chemistry Department, University of Warsaw, and by the President of the Polish Chemical Society.

7. All financial expenses related to the Kolos Medal and Lecture Awards are covered jointly by the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, and by the Polish Chemical Society.
