„Synchrotron Scattering for Study of Soft Systems”

Abstrakt wykładu:

This talk will provide an overview of the use of synchrotron x-ray scattering methods for studying soft-matter systems and nano-materials. An introduction to the x-ray scattering technique will be presented, including the use of reflection-mode scattering to study thin films.
Experimental results from a selection of soft-matter systems will be presented: alignment of semiconducting polymers, in-situ measurement of reordering transitions of block-copolymers, and DNA-mediated assembly of nanoparticles. Finally, newly-developed x-ray scattering techniques, applicable to nanomaterials, will be presented.
