Fields of research interest:

Prof. P. Krysiński:

  1. Superparamagnetic nanostructure synthesis as possible carriers for drug delivery or in photonics; surface modifications (covalent and adsorptive) with model drug molecules. Magnetic and luminescent properties.
  2. Doping of superparamagnetic core with „cold” ions: Gd3+, Tb+3, Sr+3 with later exchange for equivalent radionuclides (in collaboration with the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology)
  3. Mono- and bilayer molecular layers and liposomes as models of biomembranes in the investigations of charge transfer processes.

Dr hab. Maciej Mazur:

  1. Biodegradable polymer nano- and microparticles as vehicles for drugs, neurochemicals and microbial agents (physicochemical characterization, in vitro and in vivo studies).
  2. Core-shell nanoparticles for synergistic anticancer treatment. Contrast agents for 3D medical imaging (MRI, CT, SPECT, PET, USG).
  3. Raman studies of skeletons of Scleractinian corals (determination of polymorph identity, tracking diagenetic processes).
  4. Elucidation of physochemical parameters to determin authenticity of artwork (cooperation with Dr. B. Wagner).

Dr hab. B. Pałys:

Novel materials for sensors and biosensors

Design and synthesis of  novel materials suitable for immobilization of enzymes or inorganic catalysts. The materials are further used for the construction of very sensitive sensors for compounds important in biochemical research (like urea, O2, H2O2, etc.). The elaborated materials are based on conductive polymer hydrogels, polymer nanostructures, composites with graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, gold nanoparticles, platinum nanoparticles.

Prof. M. Skompska:

  1. Synthesis and characterization of conducting polymers and composites polymer/noble metal nanoparticles (Au, Pt and bimetallic Au@Pt systems). Application of elaborated materials in catalysis and electrocatalysis.
  2. Design, synthesis and modification of hybrid materials based on nanostructural metal oxides (ZnO, TiO2) and Au nanoparticles for photocatalytic applications.
  3. Organic-inorganic solar cells – synthesis and characterization.

Dr hab. M. Szklarczyk:

  1. Electrosynthesis of organic (derivatives of polyaniline and polyindole) and inorganic (SiOx and CdSe, CdTe) semiconductors and their mixtures. Fabricated films are characterized by AFM, STM i SEM microscopies and FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, XPS, SIMS-TOF spectroscopies. The aim of the project is construction of efficient photogalvanic systems – K. Jackowska, M. Szklarczyk.
  2. Deposition and characterization of polyelectrolyte multilayers systems for shielding of biological cells applied for treat of leukemia – M. Szklarczyk, M. Strawski.
  3. Statistical description, correlation, critical evaluation and prevision of phase equilibrium and conjugated parameters for two and multiple mixtures. Statistical studies of physicochemical simulation of chemical systems (dynamic systems for separation of substances, simulation of chemical reactors, etc.) – P. Oracz.
